Name of Author Included in Text

MLA style encourages placing the name of the author in therunning text, thus decreasing the number and size of parentheticalcitations and making the prose more readable. If the name of the author is included in thetext, include in the citation only the page number (and, if your Works Cited list includes two works by the same author, a short title).


Bailey concludes that the connection between brain damage and autism is no longerdisputed (8).
