Placement of Parenthetical Citation

Because MLA style emphasizes readability, it recommends, ingeneral, placing parenthetical citations at the end of the sentencerather than immediately after the information being cited. If the author's name is included in the text, the page number shouldstill be placed at the end of the sentence.
